New Studio Album ‘Delta Machine’ Set For Release March 26th on Columbia Records

Depeche Mode to Debut Video for First Single ‘Heaven’ on VEVO Next Friday, February 1st

(Columbia Records; New York, NY; January 24, 2013) – Depeche Mode have announced they will release their highly anticipated 13th studio album, entitled Delta Machine, on March 26th worldwide via Columbia Records. The album, recorded over the last year in Santa Barbara, California and New York City, was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood. In addition to the album announcement, Depeche Mode have also confirmed that the video for the first single “Heaven” will debut on VEVO next Friday, February 1st. Alongside a standard CD format, Depeche Mode will release Delta Machine in an exclusive Deluxe Edition with four additional new tracks and accompanied by a 28 page hardcover book including photos by longtime artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn (please see track listing, as well as album and single configurations below).

Martin Gore said of the release, “Writing this album was incredibly daunting as I wanted the sound of this collection to be very modern. I want people to feel good about listening to this record, to get some kind of peace. It’s just got something magical about it.”

Dave Gahan added, “With this release we’ve completely shifted our idea of how to create an album. When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we’ll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode Sound. Delta Machine is no different, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear it.”

Following the release of their new album, Depeche Mode will embark on a European stadium tour, kicking off in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park on May 7th. They will perform 34 shows in 25 European countries, featuring appearances at Milan’s famed San Siro Stadium, the Stade De France in Paris, and Moscow’s Locomotive Stadium before wrapping up the European leg of their tour in Minsk, Belarus on July 29. A full North American tour will follow, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.

Posted on Saturday 23 July 2011 by Rob Harvey

This weekend has a special feel to it for this time, as I’ve a week of lovely leave off work; well my day job. My plan was to lazy about at home and enjoy the sun….However I will be covering Drive time show on Phoenix FM next week, so its what I call a perfect plan for raining summer week of leave; positivity ay. Among the mix of music today you may still be recovering from the shocker from the 80′s. A one-hit-wonder by an Act called Q Lazarus and their track ‘Goodbye Horses….famous, or infamously used in Silence of the Lambs on the ‘Buffalo Bill’ dance scene;

“it puts the lotion in the basket’ Buffalo Bill – Silence of the Lambs. I may play it again on drive…

Twofers this week, took a look at the 2011 Mercury Prize Nominees and in-particular, Elbow, who have been nominated again. So we played ‘Lippy Kids’ & ‘Neat Little Rows’, to wish the band luck.

Tenek Exclusive wasn’t too Elusive…

Posted in British pop, DJ, music, Presenter, radio, Rock music with tags , on September 3, 2011 by Rob Harvey (Robrv)

After enjoying a short week; thanks to the last Bank holiday of the year, I was looking forward to this weekends show. Especially as this week, we had the exclusive first airplay of ’Elusive’, a track from the eagerly awaited EP from TENEK; which we had been enjoying a track called ’What do you want from me’, which features the hot Violin skills of Chris Payne (Dramatis). Tenek release their EP on Monday October 10th and as you know, and will be joining me……on Saturday September 10th for a chin-wag ahead of this launch. The guys will be gigging the night before, but promise a good chat anyway; Lead vocalist Peter Steer, is a Billericay boy…… so let’s face it he has got far to crawl.

Tenek

Electronic music being the order of the day, Twofer’s took two from One Legend, who has stayed the course, despite critics, since the late seventies and has build a huge following, and even more over the years when he embraced his rock roots firmly. If you only knew him for ‘Are Friends Electric’ then his new album, ‘Dead Son Rising’ maybe an eye opener; or is that an ‘Ear opener’ – I’m talking of none other then Gary Numan, and we played: ‘Cars’ and ‘ Fall’.

Hip hop legends from New York are fronted by the iconic Chuck D. They are increasingly relevant today despite peaking commercially in the early nineties, where they had established themselves on MTV for their subversive political songs such as Don’t Believe The Hype and Bring the Noise.
