Well, we had a bit of a lively show this week……Not just because of the wave of great music, but in the studio this week was the full complement of the band known as The Cover Up – A locally based ska based band who have supported Bad Manners and are now soon to support Bruce Foxton’s ‘The Jam’ , who play Brighton.

For more on the lads, have a sniff @ –

My Live music choices;

Tue 22 Feb. The Bravery – Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, London. Art-rockers from New York fronted by the aggressively sexy Sam Endicott. The American hipsters are profoundly influenced by the New Wave movement of the early eighties and became a cult music fan’s favourite when The Killers were enjoying their purple patch in 2005.

Wed 23 Feb. Cold War Kids – Koko,Camden. American college rock band from Long Beach, California with a soulful rythmn section and lung fuelled vocals. They have already established themselves a cult fan base and their biggest hits to date are ‘Hospital Beds’ and ‘Hang Me Up To Dry’.

Wed 23 Feb. Peter Bjorn and John – The Lexington, Islington. The Swedish trio return with pop and rock classics-to-be.

Sun 27 Feb. PJ Harvey – Troxy, Kings Cross. Singer-songwriter from Dorset is adored on both sides of the Atlantic for her musical artistry and dirty romantic nihilism.
